Growing up in Kloten from 1926 to 1944 is a cherished memory because of the wonderful people that lived in Kloten, McVille, and Field Township. My Grandfather, Uncles, and cousins had businesses in McVille and Kloten, plus helping to start three churches in the area as well as the telephone co. and the hospital where I was born (I still have the hospital stock certificates). My Mother loved McVille from the time she rode horseback from her Lofthus farm home to the McVille School right up to age 90 when she lived in my McVille house.

My brother Dale and myself went to gradeschool in Mcville and Kloten
in the early 50's. My parents were Bill and Hannah Whitmore. My mother was
a nurse at the hospital, and we actually lived in the basement of the
hospital for awhile. I think they also had a resturant on main street for
awhile. My grandparents were Hans and Katrina Engivik, they owned a home
in Mcville for many years and moved there after retiring from farming
near Hamer. The web-site is terrific, I remember playing basketball in
the auditorium 50 years ago. I will be very tempted to come
back for your new Mcville days or an all school reunion.

I attended the seminar at Marketplace 2002. You all should be very proud of your accomplishments.I have been showing your brochure and telling everyone I see that McVille is a town that we should be taking a lesson from. I hope to come up there and spend a day with some of you to learn how you were able to do the great things that you have done.We are in the begining stages of rebuilding Sheridan County and I was very impressed from the presentation given at Marketplace 2002.Your Aditor did a fantastic job. Great Web page! Keep moving forward and I hope to see you soon.
