Great website! I know about McVille from my grandfather who moved there from Norway to work on the railroad almost a century ago. He moved back to Norway, but his brother Anton Thorson stayed and had a large family. Any Thorsons left in McVille today?

Very nice website! I have a friend named Gayle Habbak who works at the bank there. She sent me the link to your beautiful town! Wish I could come to the North now! If you ever need any voice work in your town let me know, I'd be glad to speak for your town....

After signing this guestbook, bells finally started ringing, reminding me I may have had classmates from McVille at Concordia. Guess what? My '54 Cobber reminded me that Messrs. Bob Ringdahl and Carl Vold tiptoed through the same tulips.

Contact with public officials and media personnel in research efforts involving the early 1900s speaks well of the friendly atmosphere advertised on your website.

Hey there McVille, From a former Blackhawk!!! Fond memories of many things. As a kid the holiday basketball tournament was a highlight. Great rivalries in the Little Six conference. I remember the Johnson Store, where you could get so many things, including groceries and clothing. The Hildre's were (are) great people. Other memories included wimming at the dam, having breakfast at the McVille Cafe, and hanging out at the swimming hole. I remember when the Hollywood Theatre closed. Does anyone remember the name of the the last movie shown there? Living on the farm, we were always looking for ways to stay with someone in town so we could experience "town life." We had lots of fun. We always looked forward to Grant Ringdahl delivering our mail. He always had a good word for us. Alfred Haugen gave away lots of Blackjack candy when he came to our place delivering gas. I could go on with good memories, as there were so many great people who showed an interest in kids (playing basketball in the hay loft at Tracy and Rosalie Nass) . I look forward to checking in every now and then. Long live McVille!!!

Greetings to all the readers of the McVille website. I am a 1969 graduate of MHS and lived on a farm just north of Kloten. I came to McVille when our school closed in 1967 so I only attended MHS my junior and senior year. We had a great class and I hope anyone I know who is reading this will send me an e-mail.
