Was stumbling around and found this site. My father was Bernard Loe who grew up in McVille area 1930-1950. My mother Ann (Olson) from Lakota is in McVille this month (Sept 2009) having a mini reunion with her cousins. My dad passed away this last April 30, 2009 but always loved his homeland. I have many great memories of vacations spent there and of my many relatives. McVille will always be in my heart.

Recently I was in McVille to attend my Uncle Noel's funeral. Several of us stayed at the McVille Lodge. What a nice place to stay and relax. I enjoyed a fine breakfast at the McVille Restaurant and had an opportunity to visit with a lot of important people in my life. I look forward to a return visit.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THEN THIS In 2006 I traveled "home" from San Jose, CA to attend McVille's Centennial/All Class Reunion Celebration. On the very first night I was there I ran into my high school sweetheart, Jerome Bunde, (whom I hadn't seen for fifty-one years) in the "McVille Beer Gardens." But when we got to talking and catching up, those fifty-one years seemed like fifty-one minutes. And would you believe? Just two months and ten days later, history was made in the historic city of Wallace, ID when Mayor Garitone performed our marriage ceremony while we stood on the Center of the Universe monument and exchanged wedding vows. Consequently I quit my fabulous job at Stanford University, packed up my stuff and moved across country to Wallace, ID, the town where Jerome has lived since 1955. A few months later, Jerome, Gretchen (dachshund), Sami (kitty) and I settled into our new place (my dream home). a charming, 95 year old house on Cedar Street to live happily ever after. LIFE IS GOOD!

After living in a city for 10 years, i know that small town living is a better place to raise children. I sure miss McVille and the small town life. What a nice web site! Actually I can't believe McVille has a web site.

I grew up in McVille until the 5th grade (in the late '80's) with my parents, Monte and Marie Clauson. It was a great place to live and I still remember being sad that we had to move away. I haven't been back to visit since my grandpa Leo Clauson passed away in 2002, but McVille was looking great when I was there last! Our family is all doing well these days. :-)
